Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) invites applications for IKM Enumerators for the RIISA Project.

With support from the Government of Canada MEDA is implementing Resilience and Inclusion through Investment for Sustainable Agrikultura (RIISA). This project aims to support inclusive economic opportunities in the poor rural areas of Mindanao (Davao Region and BARRM areas) in the Philippines and to increase the productivity of cacao farms and enterprises particularly those led by women while promoting gender equality and resiliency in communities vulnerable to conflict and climate change.

JOB SUMMARY
The IKM Data Collection Activitieshaveemployeda quantitativeand qualitativeapproach toprofilingproject clients (SHFs SMEs and Coops) andperiodically will collect data toestablishmonitoring values within the life of theproject. To compare these data setsa combination of qualitative methods to reinforce data interpretation and analysiswill becollectedtodeepen and triangulate quantitative data collected. Thedata collection activities start JanuarytoMarch2026.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Collect performance monitoring data from Cohort 1 & 2 SMEs & Coops using qualitative methods (Coops & SMEs KIIs & FGDs)
- Collect Annual Survey Data using quantitative tools from at least 350 selected SHFs from 15 cooperatives/ SMEs remote or in person
- Encode / process all qualitative & quantitative data noted/gathered in the data processing template provided.
Minimum Job Requirements - IKM Enumerator (RIISA Project)
1. Education
- At least a college-level education or undergraduate degree in any of the following or related fields:
- Social Sciences (e.g. Development Studies Sociology Psychology Economics)
- Agribusiness Agriculture or Community Development
- Statistics Data Science or related quantitative fields
(Graduating students or those with relevant field experience may also qualify.)
2. Work Experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience in field data collection (quantitative and qualitative).
- Experience in:
- Conducting surveys interviews or focus group discussions (FGDs)
- Collected data from smallholder farmers cooperatives or MSMEs;
- Encoding or processing data using digital tools or spreadsheets (e.g. Excel KoboToolbox)
- Previous engagement with development or research projects (especially donor-funded) is an advantage.
3. Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills especially in engaging with community members and cooperative officers.
- Ability to collect accurate consistent data following research protocols.
- Competence in basic data encoding and documentationwriting field notes (Microsoft Excel Word or Google Sheets).
- Fluency in English and local languages (Bisaya Tagalog);
- Capable of working independently and traveling to field sites in remote areas.
4. Personal Attributes
- Detail-oriented and organized in managing field notes and forms.
- Reliable and professional in handling information with confidentiality.
- Team player flexible and willing to adapt to dynamic field schedules.
- Commitment to MEDAs values of inclusion sustainability and gender equality.
5. Availability and Logistics
- Must be available from January 6 to March 31 2026 (minimum of 30 person-days).
- Willing to report to the MEDA Davao Office when requested.
- Must have access to a personal laptop or desktop for data processing.
- Must be willing to use smartphones provided for data collection.
Languages
- Basic written and spoken English and local language. Knowledge of another local ethnic languages would be an advantage.
