ROLE SUMMARY:

Reddam House Ballito is seeking to appoint a Locum Educational Psychologist / SENCO / Counsellor to join the school on a part-time basis from 1 January 2026 to 30 June 2026.

This role focuses on supporting the academic progress and wellbeing of students assisting with accommodation services and promoting a nurturing learning environment that enables every child to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will bring professional expertise in educational psychology and student support working collaboratively with school leadership and teaching staff to ensure inclusive practices across the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare accommodation documents for submission to the IEB.
  • Assist in managing and delivering the schools accommodation service.
  • Establish a nurturing environment that promotes student engagement and wellbeing.
  • Work across year groups to deliver social emotional and educational sessions.
  • Advise the Executive Head on supporting neurodiverse students in the school environment.
  • Teach extra lessons when required (two afternoons per week).
  • Produce high-quality learning and support resources.
  • Respond to parent emails and calls within 24 hours.
  • Attend school events and functions at the discretion of the Head.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality behaviour and standards of work.
  • Undertake any additional duties as directed by the School Head or line manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Experience in Educational Psychology within a school setting.
  • A minimum of one years experience managing student accommodations.
  • A university degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Certified Teaching Status and the appropriate right to work.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to student development and wellbeing.
  • A positive adaptable attitude and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated passion for inclusive education and remedial support.
