Job Summary

SUMMARY: The Assembler under the direction of the Supervisor: dresses and assembles patterns of wax or other synthetics performs miscellaneous related duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receives instructions and job assignments from the Area Supervisor obtains Engineering Procedures and working on an assembly bench forms clusters or assemblies by finishing dressing and assembling patterns and components of wax or other synthetics utilizing a variety of techniques and supplies electric needles glue hot wax wax sticks pins knives nylon pads etc. Fixtures may be used for assembly.
  • Visually inspects patterns and components for defects such as cavities excess wax etc. Repairs defects and blends joints by using electric needles hot wax eye dropper etc.
  • Moves completed cluster or assembly on carts and moves to Manufacturing Process Inspector. Obtains patterns and components from bench area. Obtains supplies from storage area as required.
  • Carefully unloads clusters from Vendors trucks and prepares components to send to Wax OVs
  • Maintains daily reporting and other required paperwork.
  • Melts defective patterns to reclaim ceramic cores as required.
  • May be required to cut down poles or mock up material on band saw.
  • Reports faulty processes and products to the Area Supervisor.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Krohn torches

Electric needles glue hot wax wax sticks pins knives nylon pads eye droppers scalpels

Material handling devices: hoists to assist in dipping

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least one year manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions and procedures. Ability to communicate production information both in writing and verbally. Ability to complete required production reports and SPC charts.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATION:

Regular attendance and the ability to work weekday and weekend overtime.
