Supervises and coordinates several concurrent planning projects studies and activities with responsibility for a major functional segment of the total city planning program; and performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with specialization in city planning architecture engineering economics sociology public administration or a related field.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United order to receive credit for the education a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.

Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years of professional (post-bachelors degree non-clerical) work experience in city planning or related planning activities one of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

Such experience must demonstrate knowledge of the principles practices purposes scope and techniques of the various phases of city planning and the preparation maintenance and operation of a comprehensive plan for a large metropolitan area; trends in Federal State and local planning as they affect city planning; laws and ordinances relating to planning zoning land subdivision and redevelopment; and principles and practices of supervision.

Substitution: A Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from a regionally-accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of professional work experience in city planning or related planning experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid drivers license as required.
(The current vacancy does not require a drivers license.)
