We are seeking creative dynamic and committed teachers to join our team at Crystal Bay School.

Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education is located in the Ottawa Area and serves 96 students with moderate to profound developmental disabilities. All students range in ages from 4-21 years. All of our students have a developmental disability that may be coupled with one of the following: autism hearing impairment or deafness visual impairment or blindness physical disability. Crystal Bay students require individual specialized academic programming. For some programming also requires the services of trained medical personnel occupational therapists physiotherapists and/or speech and language pathologists.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school and the District by creating a positive and inclusive school climate learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a human rights and equity perspective to foster student success achievement and well-being.


Eligibility List

All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified.

If you are fully external to the OCDSB you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications. Please be advised that our order of consideration for Elementary LTOsis as follows:

1) current elementary occasional teacher applicants followed by

2) qualified external applicants.


Required Qualifications

OCT Divisional Qualifications: Primary & Junior

OCT Additional Qualifications: Spec Ed Part 1

Additional Requirements (experience knowledge education) considered an asset for the Position:

* Kindergarten qualifications

** Experience working with students with developmental disability and complex health

Additional Information:

* Requires active participation in students swimming program
