  • Salary ranges from $144018 to $158718 super leave loading

Our Environment Protection Science Branch is currently seeking to appoint a highly motivated Team Leader - Soil and Landscape Knowledge to lead a team of dedicated soil scientists delivering impactful soil and landscape knowledge and products to support contemporary environmental protection and restoration programs across NSW. You will guide the design and delivery of science projects that inform the protection and restoration of soil landscapes land management and policy and regulations.

You will foster strong partnerships across government research institutions and industry to share knowledge strengthen capability and deliver impactful outcomes. This is a role for a leader who enjoys developing and implementing scientific programs and translating complex science into meaningful insights that help protect our environment and support a sustainable future for NSW.

About You
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative science leader who thrives working with high-achieving project teams to produce customer-focused outcomes. You are someone who inspires others manages priorities effectively values collaboration and thrives in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. You will have a background in soil science landscape sciences or environmental science.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be passionate about working with stakeholders and end users to design scientific programs that meet contemporary land management needs
  • Have experience leading innovative scientific programs or teams to deliver impactful scientific knowledge and products
  • Be capable of delivering clear high-quality insights to stakeholders on project outcomes and topics related to soil and landscape protection and restoration climate change impacts and land-use and strategic planning
  • Have generated high quality scientific outputs including technical reports plain English summaries and briefing materials that inform decision making
  • Foster and encourage a collaborative and inclusive approach that values knowledge sharing and cross disciplinary teamwork to achieve meaningful outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant scientific qualifications in soil and/or environmental science
  • Experience in developing managing and leading rigorous soil landscape or environmental science programs
  • Experience in project management including finance allocation of resources and ability to report on results achieved
  • Knowledge and experience in working with a diverse team and nurturing a safe and collaborative culture
