Location 750 Collins Street Docklands

Reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager the Laboratory Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our teaching staff to deliver practical science classes. You will contribute to maintaining a well-organised and efficient science laboratory environment conducive to student learning.

This position is offered on an ongoing basis at 0.5 FTE (18.25 hours per week). The days of work may vary each semester or trimester in line with timetable allocations student numbers and operational requirements. The appointment will commence on 12 January 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup and clean-up of practical science classes

• Ensure proper cleaning and storage of equipment after use

• Prepare chemicals and samples as required for experiments

• Support teaching staff with any additional duties necessary for class preparation

• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols

• Contribute to the general running of the laboratory by performing various tasks as needed
