Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Location: Utica NY
Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM 7:00 AM) 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Type: Contract Hospital Setting
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a leading healthcare facility in Utica NY. The RN will provide high-quality evidence-based care to adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring and advanced clinical support.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver compassionate patient-centered care to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions.
Monitor and manage patients with neuro cardiac trauma and respiratory issues including COPD DKA sepsis MI and post-op cases.
Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers chest tubes arterial lines BiPAP and Neptune Vapo systems.
Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Document all care accurately in the EMR system (EPIC experience required).
Float to other units as needed to support patient care operations.
Requirements:
License: Active RN license in New York (verification required through NURSYS).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care PCU or Step-Down units. Travel experience preferred.
Certifications: Current AHA BLS ACLS and NIHSS certifications.
References: Two recent IMCU Charge Nurse or Manager RN references required.
Skills: Ability to manage vents (chronic/non-weaning) strong critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment.
EMR Experience: EPIC required.
Scrub Color: Navy Blue.
Floating: Required.

Unit Size: 64 total beds (15 designated Neuro beds)
