What Youll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAPs global strategic paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; its the foundation for a career built on connection creativity and impact.

Position title: SAP GPO iXp Intern Category Management Cloud Infrastructure

Location: Houston TX/ San Antonio TX

Expected Start: December 2025

Duration: 12 Months

Schedule: 40 HR/week

  • Project scope and deliverables

    1. Assists the Global Head of Cloud Infrastructure in many topics to include supplier quarterly business reviews biweekly team meetings presentation preparations unfiltered survey results summary meet with supplies

    2. Assist in sourcing and procurement activities for cloud infrastructure and network.

    3. Support vendor evaluation selection and performance management processes.

    4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT finance and legal to ensure procurement compliance and efficiency.

    5. Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

    6. Help maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

    7. Participate in contract negotiations and renewals under supervision.

    8. Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with business goals.

    9. Some travel may be required.

  • Business impact You will be contributing and influencing the IT & Cloud Cloud Infrastructure team by assisting in supplier quarterly business reviews and supporting sourcing and procurement activities the intern helps optimize supplier relationships and ensure that the company secures the most cost-effective and high-quality solutions. Their involvement in vendor evaluation and performance management enables the business to make informed decisions minimize risks and maximize value from contracts.

  • Team environment and collaboration Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as IT finance and legal the intern will play a role in ensuring compliance and streamlining procurement processes. Analyzing procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements can lead to measurable financial benefits and operational efficiencies. By helping with contract negotiations and renewals the intern supports strategic initiatives that align procurement strategies with broader business goals driving long-term success and innovation for the organization.

  • Learning opportunities Interns will be introduced to category management and supply chain management to include role overviews strategy discussions job shadowing RFP processes SAP Ariba tool training and experience contract negotiations directly with SAP strategic suppliers. You will also be introduced to internal stakeholders and participate in live sessions guided tool usage and reporting exercises.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Commerce Information Technology Cybersecurity Information Systems or a related field.

  • Strong interest or background in cloud computing software or IT infrastructure.

  • Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Mural).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving flexibility and adaptability to ever changing environment.
