The Role
ABC Gold Coast has a rare opportunity for an experienced and dynamic presenter to host the weekday Breakfast radio program.
We are looking for a news hound who knows and loves the Gold Coast to create and deliver a compelling and entertaining Breakfast show live from our Mermaid Beach studio from 5am to 8am Monday to Friday.
ABC Gold Coast Breakfast is a talk-back news program designed to inform our audience about important local news and to help them navigate the day with useful information mixed with a blend of great music.
Position Description: PROGRAM
About You
You are an experienced presenter with a several years experience in an on-air presenting role with experience in talkback radio.
You have good news sense and can conduct accountability interviews across a broad range of topics.
You break news and set the daily agenda.
You are a skilled storyteller who is able to capture the attention of listeners and generate audience interaction with talkback radio.
You have strong knowledge of the Gold Coast community with good connections and contacts.
Youre passionate about local current affairs social issues politics culture and sport.
You can work independently when required and enjoy being part of a dynamic team of content makers and reporters.
You work across radio online and social media.

The office is located at Mermaid Beach close to the beach transport and major shopping centres.
Gold Coast/Tweed is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and has one of the most competitive media markets.
You will have colleagues presenting and producing local Morning and Drive radio shows plus a separate Saturday Breakfast program.
There is also a newsroom of multi-platform journalists who work collaboratively to ensure local radio is relevant and current for the Gold Coast audience as well as delivering content for video and digital platforms.
What we can offer you:
- Base salary $88K to $105K (Schedule A Band 6-7)
- Plus shift penalties and leave loading (Breakfast shift starts at 4am)
