The Public Safety Division operates Montanas prisons safely and securely and provides supervision and support for offenders in the community through its Probation and Parole Bureau. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising offenders in the kitchen and preparing and serving food and nonalcoholic beverages to youth offenders. This position also receives and stores food and food service items keeps the work area clean and preparation areas sanitized (such as cutting boards serving equipment and work surfaces). Also responsible for washing dishes pans and equipment used during food preparation organizing and stocking eating service and kitchen areas ensuring adherence to kitchen safety practices and reporting any safety problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

The knowledge skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • High School Diploma

  • One-year experience with food preparation

  • Possess food handlers certificate or completes within six months of employment

Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
