We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for a reputable and well-established nursing home in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
- In the absence of the Director of Nursing assume the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in accordance with the Health Act 2007 relevant regulations and HIQA standards.
- Ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with senior management to uphold and improve standards in housekeeping food quality and choice maintenance and administrative efficiency.
- Participate in the clinical management of the home alongside the Director of Nursing including direct resident care communication with residents and families staff management performance monitoring policy development and staff training.
- Oversee the quality and safety system ensuring effective clinical risk management and active resident involvement.
- Engage in staff coaching mentoring and performance appraisals on a regular basis.
- Work with the HR department to address grievance and disciplinary matters appropriately.
- Coordinate and manage staff rosters in collaboration with the senior management team to ensure adequate staffing levels and smooth operations.
- Lead by example by promoting a professional punctual and dedicated work culture.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of policies procedures and care standards within the home.
Requirements
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience in nursing older persons within the last 6 years.
- Possess at least 7 years of post-registration nursing experience.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards and inspection processes relevant to residential care centres.
- Hold a third-level qualification in management.
- Show the ability to manage workload effectively adapting to changing priorities and demands at short notice.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning improvement and innovation within the residential care setting.
- Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence build positive relationships and achieve results.
- Promote a culture of quality assurance establishing benchmarks and KPIs in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
- Be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration.
- Be flexible with working hours as required by the needs of the service.
