Position: Process and Quality Engineer Intern Description:
Provide Process/Quality Engineering support to all product development and manufacturing processes equipment and products. Lead in the development management and execution of product test plans. Review current systems and standards by utilizing quality tools to assess and continuously improve processes. Resolve any quality concerns regarding procedure and/or product using problem solving techniques design of experiments and root cause analyses. Interact with engineers suppliers and customers to develop a clear understanding of the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.
Hours:40 hours/week with some additional travel time probable.
Locations:Clinton NC and Newton Grove NC
Responsibilities: - Collaborate with Product Engineering to create execute and document product test plans for prototyping of new or modified products
- Utilize Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies (full and modified factorials) to evaluate critical variables affecting process or product parameters such as performance durability reliability capability
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to define develop and optimize processes equipment and fixtures to aid in manufacture/inspection of product
- Define develop and maintain incoming in-process and final inspection criteria methods and data collection
- Conduct failure and reliability testing per external and internal procedures; review technical data and publications as necessary to develop and improve test methods
- Produce risk-management documentation (PFMEAs DFMEAs Control Plans FAIRs PPAPs) as needed for products and processes
- Represent Quality Assurance on cross-functional project teams; participate in technical discussions with Suppliers and Customers
- Lead cross-functional teams in structured problem-solving efforts to improve product/processes
- Review and statistically analyze manufacturing testing and in-process data- CpK GD&T SPCParetoto validate and continuously improve products and processes
- Analyze evaluate and validate customer (internal and external) complaints; lead root cause investigations focusing on true-root cause reoccurrence prevention and documenting and communicating corrective actions
- Audit Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Requests for Deviation Approval for proper implementation
- Review and disposition Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs)
- Review and disposition items in Non-Conforming Material hold area (MRB)
- Perform QMS compliance and system effectiveness audits
- Improve Quality Management System (QMS) documentation; develop revise and update procedures
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following experience/educational characteristics: - At least a sophomore standing at an accredited 4-year university
- Pursuing degree(s) in Agricultural Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related fields
- Agricultural background desired but not necessary
- Must have a thorough understanding assembly equipment ergonomics methods and procedures
- Sufficient organizational skills to prioritize schedule plan coordinate implement and follow-up assigned projects
- Excellent math skills; especially in the statistical analysis of data charting and graphing
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Applications and CAD Software strongly preferred
