Job Summary
KWKT-TV a Nexstar Media Inc. station is looking for a passionate and driven Multimedia Journalist to join our Waco newsroom. This role is central to our mission of delivering fast accurate and engaging news across digital and broadcast platforms with a strong focus on breaking news and community impact across Central Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pitch research and report local news stories for TV and digital
- Conduct interviews and gather information from diverse sources
- Write shoot voice and edit news packages
- Engage audiences through social media and web platforms
- Collaborate with producers and news managers to shape coverage
- Uphold journalistic standards and editorial integrity
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and station goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in journalism or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of reporting experience preferred
- Strong on-air presence and storytelling skills
- Proficiency in newsroom technology and editing software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
