St. Johns School is seeking a Substitute Nurse with the capacity to step in as required to assist with the overall well-being of the school community. This role involves actively participating in providing direct care to both students and staff when the need addition to relevant experience successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with K-12 students a commitment to furthering the Schools mission-including its strategic initiatives on community and inclusion and an eagerness to be involved in the school community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer first aid treat minor medical problems and identify community health concerns in accordance with established school health protocols.
- Establish and maintain an accurate clinic inventory including storage and tracking process for all medication and supplies handled within the Clinical Services Department.
- Maintain complete accurate and timely student records
- Communicate effectively with school administration parents/guardians and health care providers.
- Review medical reports and interpret them for appropriate administrative action consulting with the Director of Clinical Services as necessary.
- Implement existing student individual health plans and emergency action plans.
Qualifications
- Pediatric or School Nursing Experience
- Active Registered Nurse licensure Texas
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of pediatric development and health
