Job Summary

Join us in making a difference at Home of Guiding Hands as we enhance the quality of life for children with special needs. As the IDA Assistant Manager you will support the IDA Manager in overseeing program operations across San Diego and Imperial Counties helping to ensure that services are delivered effectively efficiently and in accordance with local state and federal guidelines. This role provides hands-on support to staff assists with quality assurance and helps coordinate communication between teams and leadership. Tasks Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the IDA Manager in implementing and monitoring IDA services across both counties.
  • Support staff in meeting program goals and objectives by providing day-to-day guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and help identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with agency policies procedures and state regulations.
  • Help coordinate staff schedules assignments and coverage to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Support hiring onboarding and training new staff under the direction of the IDA Manager.
  • Provide coaching mentorship and performance feedback to staff as assigned.
  • Collect and organize program data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  • Participate with outside agencies that have an impact on people with disabilities and their families (SDRC DDS IDA Institute etc.)
  • Participate in outreach and marketing to educate the community about services and potential job opportunities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks documentation and communication between program staff and leadership.
  • Act as a point of contact in the Managers absence to ensure continuity of operations.

Supervision: May provide guidance to IDA staff in coordination with the Program Manager but does not hold final supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Education

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of two years of experience in the field of early intervention or developmental services.
  • Knowledge of Autism and other developmental disabilities required.
  • Knowledge of the IDA California Regional Center System and Early Start Services preferred.
  • Experience providing staff support mentoring and team leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to directly address areas of concern.
  • Highly organized and efficient with ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and support program goals.
  • Ability to exercise sound expert judgement within general policy guidelines.
  • A passion for excellence through teamwork positive change and communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Must have valid California Drivers license safe driving record and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Read write speak and understand English. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The work environment for this position involves working in an office setting where you will have a dedicated work space and access to supplies. While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to see talk hear walk bend stoop sit stand reach and lift objects weighing up to ten pounds repeatedly during a shift.
