Operating room is collaborative team of surgeons anesthesia technologists and registered nurses. One to one patient ratio. Numerous specialties including robotics cardiovascular orthopedics plastics OB-GYNE neuro urology and trauma. Huge perk is getting to know the surgeons here and being able to request them to care for family members etc.

How youll contribute

ARegistered Nurse Educator (RN)who excels in this role:

• Directs plans implements and facilitates orientation and ongoing competencies for all operating room staff members

• Collaborates with OR managers/director on issues related to orientation and ongoing staff competencies.

• Assists NM with feedback and performance issues for all staff as needed.

• Possesses knowledge regarding aseptic technique and Universal Precautions

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and competence in peri operative nursing.

• Plans and provide educational programs for surgical staff using evidence-based practices.

• Circulates for various surgical procedures independently (as needed) and with staff during orientation.

• Assure that all educational requirements are met annually for all staff members.

• Promotes and follows AORN OSHA AST IAHCSMM and AAMI Standards.

• Attends education committee and other hospital committee meetings as requested.

What were looking for
Applicants should be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and stateRegistered Nurse Licensure. Additional requirements include:

• BSN/BS must obtain within 5 years

• MSN with education focus preferred

• 5 years of recent operating room experience

• Current PA RN license BLS certification

• CNOR or obtain in 2 years
