**This is an off-campus work study opportunity.** Students will work with COCOA House student attendees parents community members and area schools to build an environment that fosters young people to become: imaginative and critical thinkers lifelong learners participants in a diverse global community responsible and involved citizens collaborative and quality workers.

Location: COCOA House 869 Stanley St. Schdy
Student Supervisor:Will Rivas/Ajay Goncalves
Work Available: Days evenings; Regular weekly shifts at COCOA House
Pay Rate: $9.70/hr
Number of Positions available: 1
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with one-on-one tutoring of 3rd-5th grade students
Supervise academic enrichment activities
Maintain site rules (e.g. disciplinary and safety procedures).
During each term the work-study student may be asked to assist with field trips to local learning sites (e.g. museums libraries) and/or Union College
Note: work-study students may also have the opportunity to work on special projects that arise throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Interest and ability to work with elementary school aged children
Ability to work cooperatively and productively with volunteers school district staff parents and community members
Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others as well as respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in an emergency situation
Familiarity and experience with diverse populations strongly preferred
Location: Schenectady NY
