How youll add value:

The Capacity Planner will be responsible for ensuring that our Sample and Repository Solutions (SRS) business has the right amount of resources infrastructure and operational capabilities to meet current and future demand. This role will involve working cross-functionally with various departments (e.g. Operations IT Logistics Finance sales project management and product management) to analyze data forecast demand and make recommendations for resource planning to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting & Capacity Planning:

  • Analyze historical data and commercial forecast to identify trends in demand.

  • Work closely with sales project management and operations to own the SRS SIOP process

  • Ensure that operational resources are sufficient to meet forecasted demand.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor system performance resource utilization and production capacity.

  • Develop and maintain capacity models to predict system and infrastructure needs.

  • Prepare regular reports on capacity utilization gaps and potential risks.

Optimization & Efficiency:

  • Recommend changes to improve resource allocation and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Propose methods for maximizing capacity without compromising quality or service delivery.

  • Work with the operations team to optimize workflows and improve operational throughput.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with department heads to understand demand drivers and operational constraints.

  • Coordinate with IT production and logistics teams to align resource planning efforts across departments.

  • Communicate capacity constraints or bottlenecks and propose solutions to mitigate operational delays.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks to meeting demand and develop contingency plans.

  • Evaluate resource allocation to ensure alignment with critical business priorities.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Operations Management or a related field. A Masters degree or certifications (e.g. Six Sigma) is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of experience in capacity planning supply chain management or operations planning.

  • Proven ability to analyze data and use it to make strategic recommendations.

  • Experience with demand forecasting resource optimization and managing complex workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel Power BI etc.).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Experience with capacity planning in a Life Sciences industry.

  • Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.

United States Base Compensation: $68000.00 - $85000.00

The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience education (including licensure and certifications) qualifications performance and geographic location among other relevant business or organizational needs.
