POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Project Manager is responsible for identifying developing and implementing innovative new partnerships between food rescue donors and distribution outlets with a goal of increasing food rescued.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are those considered to be essential but do not represent all the job functions that may be required to be performed by this position. Other comparable duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Occasional evening or weekend work is required as a condition of employment.
Partner Food Rescue Program Expansion
- Expand capacity in the Partner Food Rescue Program through innovative sourcing and distribution solutions
- Under general supervision develop new program models that are effective and scalable prioritizing food safety donor relationship management and overall program goals of increased PFR capacity (eg. Food hubs)
- Utilize existing tools and program models to optimize the existing PFR program to improve program efficiency (eg. Create routes for strategic partners)
- Collaborate with other departments (Programs Volunteer Operations) to fully develop ideas and understand their impact on the organization
Engage Diverse Donors Countywide
- Independently identify prospective donors across the county focusing on unique or non-traditional donors that hold potential to be successful in PFR program
- Develop donation guidelines collateral and other resources as needed to support unique donors
- Under general supervision work with prospective donors to evaluate their unique needs related to a donation program and provide program expertise to identify sustainable and scalable solutions
- Set up new donors in CRM database
- Create and run donor tracking reports as requested
Communication and Networking
- Represent FSD in community and government collaborative groups
- Attend events including trade shows association meetings and network conferences as needed
- Work with MarComm and Development team to create and deliver consistent messages to donors
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the Food Sourcing Programs Development Marketing Communications & Content and Operations Department. The position also requires interaction with retail employees at store and regional levels and the staff and volunteers of our community partner agencies.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree
- 4 years of professional experience with program development and oversight competing priorities and deadlines
- Preferred: 5 years of work experience in foodservice grocery food safety or food distribution organization
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- A professional demeanor with an aptitude for problem solving
- Possess solid relationship-building interpersonal skills and a mature understanding of cultural competence
- Excellent verbal written interpersonal organizational and public speaking skills
- Accurate and detail oriented possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a complex and fast paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- High degree of independence flexibility initiative and commitment
- Ability to provide excellent customer service with professional representation in the community
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices
- Passion for and commitment to Feeding San Diegos mission to alleviate hunger and food insecurity
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment and machines such as telephone personal computer multi-function copy machine.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Previous or current ServSafe certification preferred. Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California drivers license a satisfactory driving record including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agencys insurance carrier standards.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee will be asked to successfully perform to fulfill the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly expected to:
- Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County.
- Prioritizes and multi-task work and projects requiring good memory concentration and analytical thinking.
- Occasionally it is required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
- Perform work in an office and warehouse space housing warehouse operations which may occasionally create an exposure to dust and pollen.
- The noise level in the work environment varies and can be considered moderate.
