Position Summary
Mortgage Connect Document Solutions (MCDS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery across our document solutions teams. This remote role is critical in driving operational excellence fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions that support our mortgage servicing clients. The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader and coach for multiple Agile teams helping them achieve their goals while aligning with MCDSs strategic priorities.
This role is not just about facilitating meetings or moving tickets it requires a deep understanding of the work being delivered the business context behind it and the ability to proactively support teams in solving real problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups sprint planning retrospectives and reviews across distributed teams.
- Actively participate in backlog refinement sessions to understand the scope complexity and business value of user stories.
- Review and analyze user stories and tickets to ensure clarity and alignment with business goals.
- Remove impediments and foster a collaborative remote-friendly environment to enable high-performing teams.
- Partner with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed backlog and clear prioritization.
- Track and report team metrics (velocity burndown charts cycle time) and use them to ask insightful questions and drive improvements.
- Shadow or pair with developers periodically to gain insight into technical workflows and challenges.
- Facilitate retrospectives and demos with context and understanding of sprint outcomes.
- Maintain working knowledge of Agile tools and document automation platforms used by MCDS.
- Promote transparency and communication across cross-functional teams and departments.
- Champion Agile maturity by identifying gaps and implementing best practices tailored to MCDSs operational needs.
- Support change management initiatives and help teams adapt to evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership to align Agile delivery with strategic initiatives and client expectations.
- Provide clear consistent updates on project status including what is in progress what is blocked and what is scheduled for release each week.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business IT or related field; Agile certifications (CSM PSM) preferred.
- 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a fast-paced service-oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum Kanban) and tools (Azure DevOps JIRA Confluence).
- Experience leading remote Agile teams and fostering virtual collaboration.
- Excellent facilitation coaching and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience working in mortgage financial services or document management is a plus.
- Proven ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn the mortgage domain and understand the business impact of technical work.
