Job Summary

Position Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair work in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The technician will diagnose vehicle issues recommend necessary repairs and ensure all work is completed safely efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle inspections diagnostics maintenance and repairs on customer and dealership vehicles.

  • Conduct work according to manufacturer specifications dealership policies and safety guidelines.

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with engines transmissions brakes electrical systems and other components.

  • Communicate with Service Advisors regarding vehicle findings and required repairs.

  • Document all work performed and parts used in repair orders accurately.

  • Stay up to date with manufacturer training service bulletins and new technologies.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace ensuring all tools and equipment are in proper working condition.

  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs are complete and systems are functioning properly.

  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

  • ASE certification or manufacturer-specific certifications strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 13 years of experience as an automotive technician (dealership experience a plus).

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with automotive repair tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions and conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position; may require Saturdays or extended hours depending on service volume.

  • Work performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise fumes and machinery.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
