The Service and Team:
The team provide the first response and triage of Adults Safeguarding concerns raised by members of the community the adult themselves or professionals. The work environment is very fast paced and busy with positive team members who are provided with regular support supervision and training as well as career progression and the opportunity to be involved in the development of the team and wider service.
The Role:
Under the leadership and management of the Team Manager you will work within a team of Social Workers and other Social Care Practitioners to provide a Safeguarding Triage service to adults with health and social care needs achieving high quality timely and person-centred Safeguarding concerns and working to improve outcomes and increase/maintain the independence of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities
Social Workers are required to work collaboratively with colleagues from different teams disciplines and partner organisations in order to provide a seamless service to individuals/families/carers. They will help to protect vulnerable adults from harm or abuse and support people to optimise their choices in order to live as independently as possible. They will work with communities individuals and families to promote their personal strengths.
Experienced/Senior Social workers are to work at the required level of professional competence as detailed in Adult Social Care Practice Quality Standards (PQS) and quality assurance framework and in line with the Experienced level of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) for Social Work. The Social Worker will ensure they maintain and improve their knowledge and skills and contribute to the learning and development of other members of the team.
As representatives of Adult Social Care Directorate behaviour and conduct should be professional at all times reflecting the values of the department and the council.
This is a public/customer-facing role where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
Working Pattern:
Working pattern is 08.45 - 17.15 Mon to Thursday and 08.45 16.45 Friday. Please that flexible working options are available in this role if feasible and following a discussion with the Team manager.
What youll need to succeed:
We welcome applications from newly qualified Social workers (NQSW) who need to complete their first Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). Please refer to Grade 3 Social Worker (Adults) role profile when applying.
You will be a social worker qualified with a Social Work Degree Social Work Qualification (Dip. SW) or equivalent and registered with Social Work England who will have:
Should your experience as a social worker be within another sector (such as Childrens Social Care or the Voluntary sector) we provide additional support to transition into adult social work through a supported induction period.
