The opportunity

At Hitachi Energy our purpose is advancing a sustainable energy future for all. We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our Service team in the Netherlands (or Belgium). In this hands-on role you will work on the commissioning installation maintenance and testing of high-voltage and electromechanical equipment supporting customers in ensuring the reliability and safety of their energy systems.

You will work both independently and as part of a highly skilled team contributing to the smooth start-up of complex electrical systems and ensuring that all service activities meet Hitachi Energys safety and quality standards.

How youll make an impact

  • Commission install test and maintain high-voltage and electromechanical systems at customer sites.

  • Identify analyze and resolve technical issues related to electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.

  • Ensure all work complies with Hitachi Energys strict safety standards and local regulations.

  • Communicate clearly with customers about service work equipment performance and safety measures.

  • Recommend product upgrades and solutions to improve system reliability and performance.

  • Provide basic on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Develop strong relationships with customers to secure satisfaction and repeat business.

Your background

  • Technical diploma (MBO or equivalent) in mechatronics electromechanics or electrical engineering.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in field service maintenance or commissioning.

  • Strong practical skills: able to read electrical diagrams connect wiring and assemble mechanical components.

  • Demonstrated safety awareness and the courage to stop or refuse unsafe work.

  • Good communication skills in Dutch (B1) and English (B2) willingness to improve Dutch on the job is welcome.

  • Valid drivers license and readiness to travel frequently within Belgium and/or the Netherlands.
