This role is on the AWS Infrastructure team. We provide end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the low cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. This includes supporting business owners in building operating and innovating our Cloud data centers. We support operations business development and engineering. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis enabling management to make breakthrough decisions drive cash flow and ultimately delight our customers.
We are growing rapidly in existing regions as well as expanding into new regions. As a member of this team you will work with regional AWS leadership to:
* Serve as the key business partner working directly with engineering automation teams and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations. You must have the ability to structure problems perform analysis and present to your business partners. Supporting business partners at Amazon requires the ability to dissent while building trust with your business partners
* Report monthly financial and operating metrics
* Manage the financial planning process. Model analyze and forecast metrics that drive budgeting forecasting and business decisions
* Perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed
* Analyze business results for key takeaways to achieve business objectives
* Monitor compliance with controls and systems and developing new processes to support the fast-growing global AWS business
* Preparing detailed financial models for business segments drive business initiatives and identify implement and deliver key operational efficiencies
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
- 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 4 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
