Job Summary

Overview

Green Mountain Power is seeking an AMI System Administrator to support its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. This hybrid role blends daily monitoring data validation and technical troubleshooting to keep our metering network accurate efficient and reliable with field work to provision and maintain remote equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor AMI tools (e.g. NetSense MV90) for data flow schedule execution and device health.
  • Triage and track issues through GMPs ticketing system.
  • Validate meter data and ensure accuracy for billing and reporting.
  • Coordinate firmware updates patching and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with metering and customer accounting teams to resolve data or system issues.
  • Support system upgrades migrations and performance tuning.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Technical aptitude with dashboards logs and networked systems.
  • Proficiency with Windows 11 collaboration tools (Word Excel Teams)
  • Fundamental working knowledge of networks and communications technologies
  • Clear communicator who works well across teams.
  • Strong interest in learning new technologies
  • Background in utilities metering or network operations is a significant plus.

Work Flexibility

Based in Rutland or Colchester VT or possibly other district offices with some remote flexibility. Both field and on-site work is required for projects and team coordination.
