Adjunct Faculty Math

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Supplement and alter where appropriate lesson plans assignments tests and materials. Maintain accurate student records grades and other requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
• Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner complying with College policies guidelines and expectations.
• Maintain a safe quality online educational environment.
• Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.

PAY RATE:

$45.50 per contact hour

A qualified faculty member in mathematics meets the discipline standard through one of two routes:

• Possesses an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in mathematics; or
• Possesses an earned masters or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics-related courses.

A qualified faculty member teaching MATH 122 meets the course standard through one of two routes:

• Meets the mathematics discipline standard or
• Possesses an earned bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution with completion of a calculus course (not brief calculus).

MATH 0XX Course Standard:

A qualified faculty member teaching developmental mathematics meets the course standard through one of three routes:

• Meets the mathematics discipline standard or
• Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution; or
• Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution with one of the following:
• One semester of calculus or
• Nine or more semester credit hours of college-level mathematics or
• Nine or more semester credit hours of college-level mathematics-intensive courses.
