About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveIT Licensing Analyst to join our team. Working closely with the Software Licensing Manager you will be instrumental in controlling and managing Nexts software and licensing posture across all global business functions.

This is a key role where you will provide expert advice to IT colleagues and the wider business ensuring compliance and challenging existing practices to drive efficiency. You will be responsible for delivering Software Asset Management (SAM) services managing software renewals and maintaining the accuracy of our software data.

This is an office-based contract with the flexibility to work from home in line with our hybrid working guidelines.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering SAM and software licensing services to internal customers across multiple business areas.
  • Managing the end-to-end process for new software requirements and renewals.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed information on both software entitlement and deployment.
  • Ensuring Software Discovery tools are up-to-date and capturing all required data across the organization.
  • Analyzing requests and proposing alternative cost-effective solutions through pricing strategies and optimal license usage.
  • Creating Effective License Positions (ELPs) for key vendors identifying opportunities for savings or commercial risks and providing remediation plans.
  • Performing cost savings and avoidance by actively reharvesting software and ensuring optimal license usage.
  • Liaising with suppliers to review and agree on contractual and commercial terms.
  • Executing day-to-day license management tasks including request management usage tracking and managing the IT Licensing Inbox.

You have a meticulous approach to data and a proven ability to manage your own workload prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines. You are a strong communicator and collaborator able to learn quickly and apply technical knowledge to provide practical business solutions.

Technical skills and experience were looking for:

  • Core SAM Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of various software licensing models and strong knowledge of license compliance governance and auditing practices.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to extract interpret and report on licensing data using tools likeMS ExcelPower BI andSnow (or similar SAM tools).
  • Cost Optimisation: A proven track record of identifying cost savings managing software reharvesting and analyzing metering data.
  • Procurement & Risk: Familiarity with software procurement practices renewals and vendor management. You can identify and mitigate risks such as non-compliance or unapproved software.
  • Lifecycle Management: Experience managing the full software lifecycle from request and procurement through to deployment maintenance and retirement.
  • IT Literacy: A good general understanding of IT infrastructure.
