Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Student Organizations is responsible for the management of the registered student organizations program. It oversees the daily services offered by the Student Organizations office including front desk customer service and student employees event registrations reservations flyer posting approval education and enforcement of university policies and advisement and consultation to students involved in organizations. The duties also include interpreting university policy regarding freedoms of speech expression and assembly while serving as an advocate for student learning and development. The position also oversees the graphic designers for Involvement & Engagement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage the registered student organizations program (formation re-registration policy enforcement programming advisement/consultation). Review approval and consultation of student organization events and activities. Supervise Free Speech Process and initiatives and campus event resources for student organizations. Supervise Student Organization Program Coordinator position. Facilitate outdoor event space management. Manage developmental and compliance education and training for students involved in organizations. Oversee communications for student organizations (newsletters approval of postings). Assist with Organizations programming ( e.g. Activity Fair orientation homecoming). Assessment of the Registered Student Organization ( RSO ) program through administrative and student learning outcomes. Supervise student graphic design team of Involvement & Engagement. Performs other duties assigned: Conduct hearing officer Student Affairs committees Miscellaneous assignments
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree. One (1) year of experience in coordinating and development of student organization services.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) or more years experience in coordinating advising and development of student activities and organization programs Professional experience with understanding of student development theory organizational development student learning outcomes and assessment.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm Some evenings and weekend hours as needed for departmental-sponsored programs..
