Job Summary

Job Title: Registered Nurse Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Rochester NY 14626
Shift: Nights 4x12-hour 19:0007:00
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)

Unit & Patient Population

Med/Surg Telemetry patient mix including:
- Acute respiratory failure
- CHF
- COPD exacerbations
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis
Common supportive equipment may include:
- BiPAP / CPAP / High Flow Oxygen
- Ventilators (non-vent management roles within RN scope)
- Tracheostomies
- Chest tubes

Staffing & Ratios

Night Ratio: Typically 1:67 may stretch 1:810 if short-staffed
Patient Care Technicians available for:
- Vital signs
- Glucose checks
- EKGs
- ADL support
Phlebotomy team does peripheral draws
- RN is responsible for PICC & central line draws

Requirements

Active NY RN License (No pending licenses accepted)
BLS required
Minimum 1 year MS/Tele experience
Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Must be comfortable with Rapid Response involvement
First-time travelers accepted
- However first-time U.S. travelers must have prior EPIC experience
Epic charting preferred

Schedule & Expectations

412-hour night shifts (19:0007:00)
Every other weekend required
No call requirement
Floating within scope to similar units may occur
Block scheduling may be requested but not guaranteed
RTO Limit: No more than 1 week of RTO permitted in contract
