Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Brake Engineer for a contract role with one of our customers located in Geelong.
In this role you will be working in a dynamic global environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and development of brake system components ensuring compliance with safety performance cost and timing requirements.
- Develop and validate designs using Ford-specific tools such as Design Rules SDS and Attachment A ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Apply reliability and robustness tools (FMEA RRCL P-Diagrams) to ensure high-quality durable designs.
- Manage projects from concept to production coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams across design testing and manufacturing.
- Utilize WERS Digital Buck and eFDVS for component release 3D design review and performance validation.
- Support prototype and pre-production builds addressing technical issues promptly and ensuring readiness for mass production.
- Use quality systems such as AIMS and Global 8D for issue tracking root cause analysis and effective resolution.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure consistent design practices and continuous process improvement.
LEADERSHIP & TECHNICAL
- Proven team leadership and decision-making ability.
- Strong knowledge of brake systems GD&T CAE tools and manufacturing processes.
- Skilled in validation verification and continuous design improvement.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors in Engineering with 5 years experience in brakes or chassis design.
- Strong in project management Six Sigma DFMEA/PFMEA and GPDS processes.
- Excellent leadership communication and global coordination skills.
