Senior Imaging Technologist MRI North Liberty

The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty department of Radiology is seeking a Senior Imaging Technologist with primary duties in Department of Radiography CT. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing advanced imaging technology/equipment explain examination procedures to patients and monitor their status and instruct students and staff on examination and equipment operations

Duties Include:

• Operate adjust and manipulate computerized electronic and mechanical components of computerized axial tomographic equipment.
• Maintain operate and trouble-shoot and report equipment failures.
• Instruct trainees students and staff on equipment operation and safety precautions.
• Explain examination process to patients.
• Ensure patients welfare and assist physician with medical procedures
• Perform patient care techniques including skin preparation I.V. placement vital sign monitoring and recording and basic life support; prepare and administer contrast material to patients.
• Maintain records and results of examinations and archive computer data.
• Plan daily regular and STAT scheduling for efficient room utilization.
• Participate in on-call coverage.
• Assist with inventory ordering supplies and maintaining quality assurance in accordance with hospital departmental and clinical unit standards.
• Participate in phantom human and/or animal research.
• Maintain knowledge of technical developments software updates and related subjects by attending meetings continuing education programs and participation in professional organizations and/or review journals or publications.
• Perform quality assurance procedures and evaluate systems performance.
• Instruct and/or evaluate the clinical abilities and performance of Radiology Technology or sub-specialty students on a clinical rotation.
• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.

Schedule:Wednesday-Friday. 7:00 AM to 7:30 PMmay include rotating weekend and holiday on call responsibilities.
