Were looking for a Data Engineer at EY GDS. You will work on designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and solutions using modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build deploy and manage data workflows that meet business needs and leverage best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies. EY Risk and Compliance Engineering is a unique industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge. The Risk and Compliance Engineering (RCE) practice works with clients to analyse formulate design mobilize and drive digital transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing digital challenges and opportunities surround business strategy customer growth profit optimization innovation technology strategy and digital transformation. We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design and transformation planning/mobilization. Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions EYs RCE team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your key responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development:Design develop and optimize data pipelines for large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Data Handling:Work with SQL for data extraction transformation and analysis.
• ETL Workflows:Develop and maintain ETL workflows using PySpark or equivalent technologies.
• Platform Implementation:Implement scalable solutions on Databricks or Snowflake environments.
• Collaboration:Collaborate with data scientists analysts and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
• Data Quality and Compliance:Ensure data quality reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Domain-Specific Solutions:Contribute to domain-specific solutions for AML fraud detection and risk analytics.

Skills and attributes for success

Required Skills:

• SQL and ETL Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in SQL data handling and ETL pipelines.
• PySpark Proficiency: Proficiency in PySpark for data processing.
• Modern Data Platforms: Experience with Databricks or Snowflake development.
• Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of FinCrime AML / Fraud detection use cases rules and data requirements.
• Performance Optimization: Experience with performance optimization and handling large-scale datasets.
• Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
• CI/CD Practices: Experience with CI/CD practices for data engineering.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

Education:

Degree: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience
