RTX Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer I to join our team. As a member of our software engineering team you will contribute to the design development testing and deployment of software solutions that support our cutting-edge aerospace and defense systems.

What you will do:

Design develop test and maintain software solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers hardware engineers and other software engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance.

Participate in software requirement analysis code reviews and testing procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.

Follow established software development processes including Agile methodologies and industry standards.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and team efficiency.

Qualifications you must have:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field (STEM).

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

Experience with programming languages such as C Python or Java (internship academic or project-based).

Understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.

Experience with DevSecOps

Experience with version control tools such as Git.

Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.

Knowledge of Agile development practices.

Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.

Exposure to software testing frameworks and tools.

Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The salary range for this role is 55000 USD - 107000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
