You will be working within the supportive and welcoming Glenrothes Community Occupational Therapy Team. We are based in Fife House Glenrothes along with Social Work Adults and Older People teams.
You will carry your own caseload of adults of all ages and will work with those people in their home settings. Your role will be assessment to identify and follow through on appropriate intervention to enable people to be as independent and safe as possible in everyday tasks. This will include recommendation and instruction in the safe use of assistive equipment and minor adaptations.
You will be required to organise your own workload. Loan working is intrinsic to the role. You will be responsible for the completion of accurate and timeous documentation. You will be part of the team duty rota to screen and prioritise requests for assessment.
In addition to general team support you will have specific support and regular supervision from an Occupational Therapist in the team. Occupational Therapy Assistants are valued in the team for their contribution knowledge and skills base.
There is flexibility for some work to be carried out at home.

You will require experience and skills transferable to carrying out assessments that focus on individual outcomes strengths and risk factors.

Before confirming to your appointment you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
