Come and be a part of the Table-Top Synchrotron project and one of the worlds strongest groups in this field in our quest to develop supercontinuum sources that outcompete synchrotrons from the deep-UV down to 33 nm to the mid-IR up to 15 µm.

To cover this enormous bandwidth you will participate in making 4 supercontinuum sources or beam lines based on gas-filled hollow-core fibers silica and soft-glass fibers such as fluoride and chalcogenide fibers that we make in-house. Specifically you will design develop and characterize low-noise supercontinuum sources using fs pump lasers implement them in OCT systems and perform a wide variety of OCT scans.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your primary responsibility will be to make and use fs pump lasers to generate low-noise supercontinua and frequency combs perform advanced spectral and noise characterization and use them for particular you will be in charge of in-house development of Thulium fs lasers. You will also be a co-supervisor of postdocs and PhD students working on the project.

We therefore require you to have strong experimental qualifications within fiber optics fiber lasers and measurements of fiber loss dispersion and laser intensity noise as well as in supercontinuum based OCT. You must document a drive to build things yourself and finish projects with high-profile publications.

You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
