Description
This job posting request is for the Community Navigator position through the TX Citizenship Program. The position is temporary and dependent on funding. Pay will be a $1200 monthly stipend for 15 hours a week. Must be located in Houston TX.
Job Title: Community Navigator (Citizenship Program)
Position Summary:
Community Navigators (CNs) play a vital role in empowering underserved communities by providing accurate information resources and support. Working closely with the Citizenship Organizer CNs will conduct outreach and education efforts to promote immigrant rights and pathways to citizenship while adhering to ethical guidelines. This role emphasizes leadership development community-driven solutions and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach and informational sessions on citizenship immigrant rights and available services
- Inform community members about their rights resources and opportunities
- Distribute reliable materials and refer individuals to workshops information sessions and reputable legal services
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Reliable form of transportation
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Strong verbal communication skills able to engage effectively with community members local organizations and event participants
- Comfort with varying work environmentsindoor/outdoor different community centers schools or businesses
- Some weekend or evening work may be required depending on event schedules
- Flexibility to adjust to varying event hours and community needs each week
