The role...



We are currently recruiting for a Principal Designer with experience working in the CDM and Building Regulations PD Roles. The position will be a key part of our BRPD and CDM teams reporting to our H&S Director. The role is to be based in our Colchester Billericay or London offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a design and construction background to lead/own jobs and help achieve safety and compliance with our IW designers on a variety of projects.

Please Note: This role may be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service Baseline Personnel Security Standard Counter Terrorist Check Security Check or Developed Vetting clearance.

The selected candidate will

  • Work across our CDM and Building Regulations Principal Designer Teams.
  • Play a key role in supporting both clients and project teams by providing expert advice on health and safety compliance and fulfilling CDM responsibilities across all service phases. They will coordinate health and safety measures throughout the project lifecycle ensuring effective communication and documentation at every stage.
  • Act as building regulations Principal Designer advisor for Ingleton Woods design teams. Collate and comment on all Design Risk compliance documents for projects. Produce review and update a BSA compliance Risk Register / Project Compliance Coordination Record.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of project construction phases as defined in scope for each particular project. Coordinate and gather any activities or design elements which may impact Building Regulations and H&S compliance.

Essential skills experience and attributes:



  • Good collaborator.
  • Strong technical background in architecture building surveying project management or health and safety.
  • Qualifications as appropriate.
