Principal Telecom Design Engineer
Role Overview
The Senior Telecom Professional will lead the design engineering and implementation of advanced telecommunications and integrated security systems for oil & gas petrochemical and infrastructure projects. This role demands expertise in Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) and High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) directives ensuring compliance across all project phases from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Telecom Systems Design & Integration
- Develop philosophies specifications block diagrams and datasheets for telecom systems including:
- Fiber Optic Networks (OSP/ISP)
- DWDM/SDH Transmission Systems
- IP Telephony WLAN Industrial Wi-Fi
- Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA) Paging & Siren Systems
- Radio Systems (TETRA DMR)
- CCTV and Video Surveillance Integration
- Security Systems Compliance
- Prepare HCIS Stage 14 packages (Risk Assessment Concept of Design Preliminary & Detailed Design).
- Design and integrate security systems such as:
- Security Access Control System (SACS)
- Video Assessment & Surveillance Systems (VASS)
- Long-Range Detection & Assessment Systems (LRDAS)
- Microwave Intrusion Detection Systems (MIDS)
- Project Management
- Lead multi-discipline engineering teams for FEED detailed design and EPC phases.
- Coordinate with Aramco PMT HCIS authorities and vendors for compliance and approvals.
- Review IFC drawings resolve technical queries (TQs) and manage design changes.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Saudi Aramco standards HCIS directives and international codes (BICSI NEC NFPA).
- Conduct internal audits for HCIS compliance prior to submission.
- Support FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications / Electrical Engineering.
- 15 years experience in telecom and security systems design for oil & gas projects.
- Proven track record in Saudi Aramco projects and HCIS compliance workflows.
- Certifications preferred: BICSI-RCDD ASIS PSP Saudi Council of Engineers registration.
- Strong knowledge of EPC/DB PMCM and GES project execution models.
Core Competencies
- Expertise in telecom network architecture and security integration.
- Familiarity with HCIS approval process and Aramco ISSD requirements.
- Ability to manage techno-commercial aspects and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
