Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
The Consumer Fraud Bureau enforces the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/1et. seq). The Acts purpose according to its preamble is to protect consumers and borrowers and businessmen against fraud unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce... The Bureau carries out its mandate by conducting investigations and when appropriate filing enforcement actions in state or federal court to stop fraudulent unfair or deceptive practices. The Bureau periodically collaborates with other government and law enforcement agencies attorneys and advocacy groups on public policy and other matters of law as it pertains to consumer protection. The Bureau also drafts legislation and rules and participates in events to educate the community on emerging consumer problems and issues.
Qualifications
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Illinois at the time of application. Strong interest and experience in investigation litigation and public policy is preferred particularly with regards to consumer protection issues.

Salary:Salaries are commensurate with number of years of practice as a licensed attorney and range from $83000 to $107550.
