Preventative Maintenance Technician
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preventative maintenance experience preferred but not required as it pertains to the following: troubleshooting servicing and repairing commercial plumbing HVAC equipment boilers and motors as well as changing filters belts etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of local state and national codes and regulations.
- Current journeymans license and or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma.
- Maintain current/valid drivers license.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others.
- Ability to obtain Stationary Engineers license.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Crafts Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOALS: To effectively and efficiently supervise and maintain all aspects of the preventative maintenance program to include maintaining working inventory of supplies implementation of preventative maintenance procedures and practicing energy conservation.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs preventative maintenance on district equipment including but not limited to motors boilers water coolers emergency lighting equipment circulating pumps heating and ventilation equipment.
- Provides leadership and guidance to develop a system maintain and monitor preventative maintenance activities.
- Conduct on-site preventative maintenance inspections.
- Direct district operations engineers and custodians in preventative maintenance activities.
- Works and communicates effectively with others.
- Provide direction and training for preventative maintenance staff.
- Forecast needs conditions and availability of resources.
- Investigates the potential of new preventative maintenance processes products and procedures.
- Responsible for all preventative maintenance records and tracking tools.
- Maintains preventative maintenance safety program.
- Member of the district snow team.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bending lifting up to 90 lbs climbing continuous standing.
- May be exposed to dust and dirt.
- Work is both indoors and outdoors.
- May be exposed to inclement weather and ultraviolet radiation.
- Must be physically and medically able to wear respiratory protective equipment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve-month year. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
- Shift schedule to be determined.
- Must be able to respond to critical electrical needs at any time of day or night in coordination with other electrical technicians.
- Salary range: depending on education experience certifications and qualifications.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
