Ford Motor Companys Global Data Insights and Analytics (GDI&A) department develops scalable solutions to complex real-world problems using Machine Learning Big Data Statistics Econometrics Optimization Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Our goal is to drive evidence-based decision-making by providing insights from data across various domains including Product definition Advanced Operations Manufacturing Supply chain Logistics Connected Vehicle and Warranty Analytics.
We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Industrial System Analytics (ISA) team. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining key features for our applications with a strong focus on leveraging Generative AI and LLMs using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools and techniques. Youll be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain full-stack applications encompassing both front-end user interfaces (React/Angular) and robust back-end services ( Python/Django/Flask Java/Spring).
Integrate Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities to enhance application functionality and user interaction.
Implement and optimize cloud solutions leveraging GCP tools (e.g. BigQuery GCS Dataflow Dataproc) and APIs/Microservices.
Deploy and manage applications on GCP using Docker and Kubernetes ensuring optimal performance scalability and security.
Participate actively in code reviews advocating for best practices test-driven development (TDD) and ensuring adherence to Fords security and compliance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and designers throughout the Agile software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
3 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs) including their application and integration into software solutions.
Proficiency in programming languages: JavaScript (with React/Angular) Java Python and SQL.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Hands-on experience with GCP services (BigQuery GCS Dataflow Dataproc) and deployment practices (Docker Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines).
Proficient with Git version control and modern testing frameworks.
Solid understanding of software development best practices design patterns Agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
