A day in the life
Youll start your day reviewing automation pipelines that generate documentation for AWS services across multiple domains. You might investigate why service endpoints arent updating correctly in the AWS General Reference or work on the CloudFormation automation that generates documentation for hundreds of AWS resource types collaborating directly with service teams to understand their metadata.
Your work directly impacts millions of AWS customers who rely on accurate documentation for service quotas regional endpoints IAM policies and CloudFormation resources for their operational decisions. Youll spend time enhancing automations to handle new AWS services and data sources ensuring the documentation stays current with AWSs rapid service expansion.
Beyond individual systems youll contribute to the broader content automation portfolio helping integrate these critical systems with our new AI-first platform. This includes implementing content fingerprinting so the platform can identify and manage automated content alongside human-authored documentation.
About the team
Youll join the Content Automation team that maintains the invisible infrastructure powering much of AWSs customer-facing documentation. Our automation systems generate content for the AWS General Reference service-specific documentation and critical operational information that AWS customers depend on daily.
The team operates at the intersection of content creation and software engineering building systems that automatically transform service metadata API specifications and operational data into high-quality documentation. We work closely with AWS service teams to ensure their documentation stays accurate and current without manual intervention.
Were currently integrating our automation systems with AWSs next-generation AI-first content platform. This presents exciting technical challenges around content identification quality validation and seamless integration with both automated and human-authored content workflows.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
