This role involves maintaining payroll records verifying timecards calculating wages and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The Payroll Assistant will work closely with HR and Finance teams to support payroll operations and resolve employee inquiries. |
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS |
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience preferably in healthcare or pharmacy settings.
- Familiarity with ADP or similar payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

- Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy industry.
- Familiarity with journal entries or basic accounting concepts.
- Certified Payroll Professional (FPC or CPP) certification a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Collect and review timecards attendance records and other payroll data.
- Enter and maintain accurate employee information in the payroll system (ADP).
- Calculate wages overtime deductions and adjustments in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Process biweekly payroll and assist with off-cycle payments as needed.
- Verify payroll reports for accuracy before submission.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay deductions and tax withholdings.
- Assist with new hire setup and termination processing in payroll systems.
- Prepare and maintain payroll records for audits and compliance.
- Support year-end activities including W-2 and 1099 processing.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance on benefits deductions and garnishments.
- Other duties as assigned
