We are seeking an Underground Coordinator to join our team in De Pere WI. In this role you will support the daily coordination of underground construction projects ensuring work is completed safely accurately and according to schedule. This role assists with job preparation field documentation permitting and communication between crews customers and management to help projects run smoothly from start to finish.

The Role

  • Coordinate and communicate with multiple crews and subcontractors to support daily underground construction activities
  • Report weekly completion information and project updates to management
  • Work directly with customers and internal teams to provide updates and address site-related issues
  • Perform site walkthroughs to verify locates job readiness and placement of fiber cables and equipment
  • Assist with planning and scheduling materials equipment and resources needed for assigned projects
  • Conduct field checks and quality control reviews to confirm work meets company and customer standards
  • Ensure all required paperwork reports and project documentation are completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Support inventory tracking material handling and equipment inspections
  • Assist with coordination of permits easements and pole measurements with city state or local authorities
  • Promote and follow all safety procedures ensuring compliance with OSHA DOT and company policies
  • Maintain assigned vehicle tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers customers and leadership
  • Use Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel Outlook) and other software to track and report project progress
  • Travel as needed including occasional overnight stays based on project requirements
  • Follow all company policies procedures and safety regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Experience in construction: utilities telecom or related field required
  • Basic understanding of underground construction processes such as trenching boring or fiber placement
  • Knowledge of both telecom aerial and underground construction a plus
  • Ability to read CATV or related blueprints
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Able to communicate with customers and employees in a clear and professional manner
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Strong communication organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read job prints maps and basic construction plans
  • Working knowledge of safety standards including OSHA DOT and NESC preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
  • Able to work while standing 75% to 90% of the time
  • Comfortable working near power lines municipal services and other communications cables
  • Able to work and travel in inclement weather
  • Vision Ability: close vision peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus
  • Able to manipulate connectors fasteners wire and use hand tools
  • Willing and able to travel over the road at any time to accommodate job responsibilities
  • Willing to work evenings weekends holidays and extended hours as required by the workload
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves driving
  • CDL preferred
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)
