DescriptionEmersons Energy and Transportation Solutions business is seeking an Applications Engineer to implement SchedulerManager software product and services. This role is one of the primary client-facing individuals and is also the primary medium between the client and internal product development teams on issues and enhancements. Our clients transport and store liquid hydrocarbons and chemicals in the (midstream) pipeline terminal and marine space. You will work closely with the business users in gathering requirements and analyzing data in support of business cases proposed project plan and system requirements for software development projects.
IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
- Work as a consultant to gather document and understand the clients business processes/requirements and as an implementer to deliver the agreed functionality.
- Coordinate between teams of technical resources and business stakeholders and have a thorough understanding of the technologies systems and processes that will be used in achieving project objectives
- Prepare Acceptance Criteria User Manuals and UAT documents to run the UAT with the client
- Assist the QA team with test plans and perform validations.
- Perform project implementation with emphasis on executing on time on budget and with high customer satisfaction.
- Maintain business cases change requests test plans and issue/action tracking while making recommendations for improvement.
- Perform software application gap analysis and troubleshooting.
- Track and resolve bug/defect reports.
- Perform client-specific application configuration
- Interact with different client groups to provide analytical support.
- Assist teams with the planning and design of business processes and systems.
- Be expected to have excellent knowledge of the companys business procedures and objectives.

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering Computer Science or technical equivalent
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding or working knowledge of C# WPF SQL XML
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data using MS Visio MS Excel MS Access MS PowerPoint and AutoCAD
- Data analysis experience with an emphasis on graphics-based analytics
- Strong customer/client interfacing skills for a global audience.
- Ability to balance many projects/product releases at once.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%

PREFERRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & SKILL:
- Experience studying pipeline schematics and translating them into pipeline models.
- Previous application engineering or Technical business analysis experience in a project and services-oriented environment including interaction with external clients.
- Strong communication presentation and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and exemplary organizational skills.
- Oil & Gas experience
- Good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen to help the team capture evaluate analyze and deliver on business needs.
- Ability to identify and effectively document issues risks and action items.
- Experience with new product development and release cycles in a Professional Services/Technology Solutions environment a plus as is experience with distributed and overseas teams.
- Familiarity with Energy and Transportation Solutions products and software solutions.
- Experience managing global team and cross-functional collaboration.
