The Emergency Department is a Level I Adult Pediatric and Burn Trauma Center. It spans the ground floor of 3 buildings and is divided into several areas including pediatric and psychiatric areas.
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will assist the RNs in the Emergency Department (ED) with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs transport patients check rooms and equipment assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Our Patient Care Assistant team prides themselves in responding to patient requests in a timely manner safeguarding patient confidentiality monitoring patient safety and always communicating in a respectful manner.

Days (7am-7pm)
Nights (7pm-7am)
Weekend shifts every month and rotating holiday schedule.

Essential Functions
-Performs vital signs weights/heights intakes and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
-Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
-Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
-Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
-This may include bathing and dressing patients helping them use the toilet if needed and feeding them.
-Assists with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
-Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
