As a Lead Sofwtare Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payment Services technology team you will join one of agile teams that work to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You will also manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teams work adheres to compliance standards business requirements and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Investigates problems and suggests effective solutions to address them
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Strives to meet guidance set forth by the team lead for software quality testing practices and runtime efficiency
- Serves as an engineering role model for junior team members
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
- Must have 5 years of demonstrated recent experience in Java development
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Proficient with delivering enterprise grade micro-service based solutions
- Demonstrated practical experience delivering API based (REST or HTTP Based) solutions
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security and Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
- Very good understanding of software engineering principles design patterns and best practices.
- Hands on experience working with high throughput low latency distributed systems ensuring efficient communication and integration between different systems.
- Proven record of providing end-user support with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical experience with delivering cloud native applications
