We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate Scientist USP to join our team in Oss. As an Associate Scientist USP you will contribute to USP research projects for a medicine. Frequent small-scale experiments are carried out on these medicines with the aim of supporting the production of this product and investigating improvements in this production process. You will also support bioreactor runs with different cell lines and different products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing support tasks for lab readiness introduction of new products process transfer and (analytical) method transfer
- Performing cell culture and analytical methods (e.g. HPLC)
- Supporting the planning and implementation of laboratory scale-down model establishment and satellite studies as part of product tech transfer
- Designing and performing process optimisation studies to support manufacturing efficiency
- Participating in process optimisation including supporting laboratory scale studies and analytical qualifications
- Developing technical assessments for new products in collaboration with local and global technical teams and providing input for product strategy
- Coaching and leading in the area of problem solving and finding new perspectives on existing solutions with the aim of continuous learning improvement and development
- Representing the group in interdisciplinary and global groups
- Product robustness monitoring in collaboration with global technical teams and taking leadership in investigations
- Demonstrate a safety first quality always mindset in all activities
- Possible additional tasks such as writing protocols/reports and digitisation.
This is a full-time position.
In this position weekend shifts may be required several times per quarter.
Qualifications :
- A completed degree in biotechnology microbiology process technology or life sciences (BSc with at least 5 years of experience or MSc with at least 3 years of experience)
- Technical expertise in biologics drug substance upstream and downstream operations analytical testing process development and tech transfer
- Experience with cell culture
- Experience with HPLC (in the field of biomolecules) is an advantage
- Experience with Raman is an advantage
- Effective communicator with in-depth technical scientific expertise
- Experience in a GMP/regulated environment is an advantage
- Good command of Dutch and English both spoken and written
