Job Summary
- Performing general maintenance and repairs in the hotel
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotel
- Ensure all guest rooms public areas and service areas are in excellent working order
- Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels Property Management System (PMS).
- Assist in keeping up-to-date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment machinery and systems to identify potential issues
- Ensure all tasks are performed with urgency and in the safest manner possible
- Assist in managing 3rd party contractors
- Communicate effectively with hotel staff to address urgent maintenance concerns
Qualifications :
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable in a physical role have a get-up-and-go attitude with a strong eye for detail
- Self-motivated punctual and reliable with a proactive approach to work
- Basic knowledge of general repair work or DIY
- Competent in the use of basic computer programs
- Workplace Health and Safety knowledge
- Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts including weekends
- Previous handyman/maintenance experience in a hotel or guest service environment preferred
